MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of the Spring Lake Recreation & Parks Department to address quality of life issues through successful implementation of planned leisure activities for children, adults and senior adults and through well planned, constructed and maintained recreation facilities and park system.


DIRECTOR

The Recreation and Parks Director is responsible for overseeing the entire Recreation and Parks Department for the Town which includes but is not limited to the Community Center, the Senior Center, the network of Town park facilities, all recreational activities, the sports coordinated by the Town, inter-local agreements entered into by the Recreation Department, programs run out of the Recreation Department and related facilities, fitness room, budgeting and more. They are also responsible for coordinating Town events and special gatherings.

MULTI-PURPOSE COMMUNITY CENTER AND WALKING TRAIL

The Spring Lake Multipurpose Community Center, located at 245 Ruth Street, is a state of the art facility that offers something for all ages. Adjacent to the Community Center is the Spring Lake Path to Fitness (The Walking Trail.) It is a safe and scenic way to get fit!


PARK FACILITIES

The Spring Lake Park System offers something for everyone of every age.  Park facilities include Mendoza Park, Wilson Avenue Park, Odell Road Park and Ruth Street Park.  From playground equipment to basketball courts to picnic tables to baseball fields, the Parks in Spring Lake are not only well maintained, they offer outdoor fun for all.


SPORTS REGISTRATION

The Recreation and Parks Department is currently registering youth for baseball. Registration fee is $20 for Spring Lake residents and $40 for non-residents.

SPORTS INFORMATION

The Recreation and Parks Department sponsors an array of sports for youth of all ages.  The program is very successful.  Each year, it grows.  Residents and non-residents can participate in the various sports the program hosts.  In order to be successful; however, there are certain expectations and conduct expected of players, coaches, fans, volunteers and spectators.

SPRING FLING

Its the LARGEST annual event that the Town hosts.  Plans are currently underway for the 2012 Spring Fling and it will be "Celebrating a Winning Tradition." The Spring Fling personifies Spring Lake in that it is all about community, tradition, the future, excitement and generosity. Mark your calendar now so you can be a part of all the festivities!  Also, if you have interest in being a sponsor or a vendor, now is the time to come on board.


ONGOING PROGRAMS

The Recreation and Parks Department offers more than just traditional sports programs.  In fact, the Department prides itself on the programs and services it offers the community.  Whether you want to "shake" it up a bit, "tap" to beat of a traditional drummer or learn a skill that just may save a life, the recreation and Parks Department has something for you. They are continuously seeking out new programs to enhance the the opportunities for the community. Check out what is currently available.

ADOPT A STREET

The Town of Spring Lake is currently recruiting businesses, civic groups, churches, families, and other organizations and volunteers for their adopt-a-site, adopt-a-street program. This program is a program where concerned citizens pick up litter and debris and help with beautification projects for particular sites throughout the town. How can you help? Why should you get involved?
