Chief McDuffie began his professional career in the United States Army where he served from 1982 - 1986. He began his career in law enforcement in 1986 with the Fayetteville Police Department. He has since held such positions as Investigator, International Police Officer (while serving with the U.N. Peacekeeping Force in Bosnia,) Homicide Detective, Chief Deputy and Police Chief. He has not only served with the Fayetteville Police Department but also with the Hoke County Sheriff's Office and most recently with the Red Springs Police Department. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice as well as multiple certifications to include, but not limited to, BLET, Advanced Homicide, Child Death Investigation, Field Training, First Line Supervision, Handling Unusual Occurrences, Investigative Techniques & Strategies in Child Abuse & Neglect, Criminal Intelligence Analysis Techniques and Interview & Interrogation. Chief McDuffie holds a myriad of honors and awards both military and civilian as they relate to his profession.
