Recreation Events and Announcements

YOUTH DANCE
The Spring Lake Recreation Department will host a Youth Dance for ages 14 and under on Friday, March 16th. The dance will start at 6:00pm and end at 9:00pm. Admission is $3 per child. There will be free food served while it lasts. The dance will be held at the Recreation Center located at 245 Ruth Street. For more information, call (910) 436-0011

810 Beaded Jewelry Workshop: Starts Mon, March 5th and will be held every Monday from
6:00pm - 7:00pm. Ages for the class are 10-15. Learn the basics of beading, colors and patterns in jewelry making. Be able to design your own look to fit your style or a new line to sell! No experience is needed as this is a beginners class. Materials are not required, as all materials needed will be provided: Polymer Clay for bead making, string and wire, jewelry findings, beading tools, assorted beads and accessory cases. At the end of the sessions, all projects will be sent home with students. They will also be given the option to participate in future bazaar events at The Spring Lake Flea Market to showcase their gifts and talents. Fee for the class is $15. In order to conduct the class, there is a class minimum size of 5 and a maximum size of 15. Early registration is strongly encouraged.

Paper Craft & Scrap booking: Starts on Tues, March 6th and will be held every Tuesday from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Ages for the class are 12-18. Learn scrap booking basics and the art of paper crafting. Scrap booking, paper crafts and projects, book making, paper mache.
No experience is needed as this is a beginners class. Materials are not required, as all materials needed will be provided: Scrapbooks, scrap booking paper, scissors, loose colored paper, stencils, stickers, glue, glitter, binding, twine, scrapbook findings. At the end of the sessions, all projects will be sent home students. They will also be given the option to participate in future bazaar events at The Spring Lake Flea Market to showcase their gifts and talents. Fee for the class is $15.

810 Art Bazaar: starts on Wed, March 7th and will be held every Wednesday from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Ages for the class are 12-17. Oil and water painting, drawing and sketch, learning how to draw.
No experience is needed as this is a beginners class. Materials are not required, as all materials needed will be provided: Sketch books, pencils, water colors, oil paints, canvas, easel, brushes, paint remover. At the end of the sessions, all projects will be sent home with students. They will also be given the option to participate in future bazaar events at The Spring Lake Flea Market to showcase their gifts and talents. Fee for the class is $15. In order to conduct the class, there is a class minimum size of 5 and a maximum size of 15. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
- Sewing, Seams & Sequins: starts on Thurs, March 8th and will be held every Thursday from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Ages for the class are 14-18.
No experience is needed as this is a beginners class. SEWING MACHINE IS REQUIRED!!! Materials are not required, as all materials needed will be provided: Fabrics, batting, stuffing, dowel rods, thread, patterns. At the end of the sessions, all projects will be sent home with students. They will also be given the option to participate in future bazaar events at The Spring Lake Flea Market to showcase their gifts and talents. Fee for class is $15.

Spring Lake Community Choir: Starter Sessions: starts on Thurs, March 8th and will be held every Thursday from 7:00pm - 8:00pm.
Ages for the class are 10-17. Beginning class for community choir. This class is to ensure your child's dedication to the community choir with vocal lessons and practice. Once the sessions are complete, they will be moved to a different time slot and will have the teachings to graduate to THE SPRING LAKE COMMUNITY CHOIR. These sessions are FREE. Once your child upgrades, you maybe required to pay a one time fee for robe materials made by Piink Wiidow Fashions. In order to conduct the class, there is a class minimum size of 8. Early registration is strongly encouraged.

810 Home & Garden: starts on Fri, March 9th and will be held every Friday from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The ages for this class are from 12-18. The art of basic gardening of flowers, vegetables and herbs. Home and room decorating tips. No experience is needed as this is a beginners class. Materials are not required, as all materials needed will be provided: Seeds, starter plants, soil, gardening tools, instruction manuals, pottery. At the end of the sessions, all projects will be sent home with students. They will also be given the option to participate in future bazaar events at The Spring Lake Flea Market to showcase their gifts and talents. Fee for class is $15. In order to conduct the class, there is a class minimum size of 5 and a maximum size of 15. Early registration is strongly encouraged.

PIZZA FRIDAY AND OPEN REC
The Spring Lake Recreation Department announces PIZZA AND OPEN REC Friday, March 23rd for all youth 18 and under. No membership is required and participation includes open gym, video games (each game may require a small fee,) television, games and other activities. Free pizza will be served to all who attend WHILE IT LASTS. The fun starts at 6pm and runs through 9pm. For more information, call the Rec. Dept. at (910) 436-0011.
