Byron Blumenfeld

 

Byron Blumenfeld has been with the Town of Spring Lake since February 2007.  He has served as the Street Department Superintendent, Stormwater Administrator, and currently as the Water Resources Manager.  Byron came to the Town after a 30+ year career in the United States Air Force in various positions culminating as the Interim Command Chief 37th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base South Dakota and the 23 Fighter Group “Flying Tigers” Group Superintendent at Pope Air Force Base here in North Carolina where he served as the pivotal point for Health, Welfare, and Moral issues for over 4500 military families.  His background includes over 12 years in the swimming pool industry and over two years with an Engineering consulting firm where he designed and oversaw the construction of waste water treatment plants and all phases of fresh water supply, sewer collection and stormwater systems.  He has three Associates Degrees to include Civil Engineering, and is currently fully certified in all aspects of Stormwater and Erosion control requirements in the State.  In addition, he holds North Carolina Licenses for “C” Distribution and Grade “II” Collections as well as Pesticide Licenses for Right-of-Way and Aquatic applications.
