Routine Flushing of Fire Hydrants

The Spring Lake Fire/Rescue Department will begin its routine flushing of hydrants throughout the month of March 2018 (weather permitting.) This operation will start Monday, March 5th.  Hydrant testing may happen daily between 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Customers may notice discolored water during this time. The discoloration will clear up as we move out of your area. Please refrain from washing your clothes until your water runs clear. The purpose of these flushes is to afford us the opportunity to check the functionality of the Town’s fire hydrants, obtain data on flow rates and is necessary to assist with March Burnout. Should you have any questions regarding hydrant testing, please call the Spring Lake Fire/Rescue non-emergency number (910) 436-0337. For questions regarding March Burnout, please call Water Resources Department at (910) 497-3390 x1612.
